The campaign in Berserkergang presents a compelling narrative set on the island of Danelind, which is suddenly under siege by enigmatic adversaries. The setting offers a rich backdrop of secrets and untapped potential, although the storyline occasionally perks up only in moments of heightened tension.

Players assume the role of Odin's Actual, tasked with recruiting, training, and commanding various units to defend Danelind from a range of threats, including grotesque monsters, seasoned bandits, foreign invaders, and the ominous Necromancers. These enemies are driven by their desire to harness Danelind’s legendary power, creating a dynamic battleground that challenges your strategic prowess.

The game involves traversing multiple missions across the island, supporting different tribal factions—Wolf, Raven, and Moose—in their fights. Each tribe contributes distinct skills, weapons, and classes, which adds layers of variety and depth to the gameplay experience.

From an RPG mechanics perspective, Berserkergang emphasizes troop management through recruitment, training, and equipment upgrades. Troops can advance through 18 classes—six per tribe—and can further improve their abilities during combat. For example, a Wolf tribe Warrior can evolve their signature Obliterating Insult attack to inflict additional damage with specialized effects.
